The goal of this project was to increase the repairability and durability of an outdoor IP camera with IP65 certification, Wifi connectivity, and 128GB storage — without compromising weatherproofing or functionality.
Failure analysis identified undersized seals as the primary leak point. The redesign enlarged seal surface area, resolving weatherproofing failures and extending product lifetime significantly.
Redundant internal volume was eliminated without affecting IP65 rating. Permanent snap-fits were replaced with tool-accessible fasteners and removable internal cables.
All original specifications maintained while scoring significantly higher on repairability indices — positioning the manufacturer ahead of incoming EU regulation.
